St Georges Basin Country Club

When Size Matters

The St Georges Basin Country Club auditorium is the home of the biggest screen we have installed on the South Coast. This motorised 275″ screen is in a 16:10 format and has a massive net viewing area of 5.925 metres wide by 3.705 metres high. “This was the biggest screen we could get without the screen hitting the floor when it is the down position” said SSi installation specialist Alan. The large motorised screen,  weighing 180 kgs, was built by our screen supplier, Screen Technics in Moss Vale.

EB-G6250WNL_240A big screen needs to be complimented with a high quality bright projector. We installed an Epson projector with a brightness of 6500 ANSI lumens.  This projector has a lens range from short throw to long throw, offering great flexibility for location and mounting options. For this install, we mounted the projector on the rear wall of the auditorium, 25 metres from the screen. “This allowed us to remove the bulky mount in the middle of the auditorium that was previously used” says Alan. He continues, “this made the sight lines to the screen much cleaner”.

HDMI inputs were provided at the front and the rear of auditorium for connections to Laptops, Blue-ray players and/or digital TV.  Running long HDMI cables can result in no picture, but using HDbaseT technology overcomes these problems. A feature of these projectors is that they have a direct HDbaseT input, eliminating the need for a separate receiver.
